At the beginning of spring 2021, Jungle Juice Bar found itself in a situation where it quickly needed an interim CFO during a transition period. At the same time, there was a need to develop financial processes, something for which internal resources were lacking. Jungle Juice Bar contacted Marko Järvelin and chose a pragmatic solution to meet both resource and competence needs by engaging NIS Northern Interim Services.

Through NIS, Nina Norberg was appointed as interim CFO. Thanks to her experience, she was able to quickly step into the role and ensure continuity in both the operational business and reporting to management and the board. Entering the role in the middle of the 2020 year-end closing process was also not an issue.

With Nina in place, Jungle Juice Bar’s finance function continued to operate steadily during the transition period, while financial processes and forecasting models were developed to the next level. Examples include improved cash flow forecasting and follow-up, as well as further development of the reporting package for the board. To ensure a smooth handover to the new CFO, NIS also supported the recruitment process and onboarding.

The end result was a very satisfied client. “I am 130% satisfied—you won’t get any improvement suggestions from me,” said Jungle Juice Bar’s CEO Elli Holappa when asked about the outcome of the project and any potential areas for development.

In addition to competence, the strong cultural fit between NIS and Jungle Juice Bar also contributed to the success. Values, views on corporate culture, and personal chemistry aligned well between Nina and the organization, which was important to Elli.
