Instru Optiikka carried out a development project within its service business that required strong expertise in finance and process development. The solution was NIS consultant Maija Rinta-Laulaja.
Instru Optiikka initiated a project with the goal of simplifying and automating operational and financial administrative processes. The project required contributions from several parts of the organization, as well as a specialist with broad expertise in finance, systems development, and project management.
The right profile was found among NIS consultants, and Maija Rinta-Laulaja joined the project. In addition to her expertise within the finance function, she also has a strong understanding of IT systems and extensive experience in leading projects.
The collaboration delivered results
Since the goal was to develop the company’s entire service business, expertise from several teams within Instru Optiikka was required. At the beginning of the project, Maija was responsible for developing financial processes, and as the project progressed, she also took on responsibility for project coordination and communication.
A strong collaboration between Instru Optiikka’s team and the NIS consultant emerged right from the start.
“It was inspiring to see the team’s willingness to change and develop the business. The project was characterized by strong momentum from the beginning, and we were able to resolve issues quickly. It was truly a pleasure to work in such a team,” says Maija Rinta-Laulaja.
Collaboration and teamwork were central throughout the project. In addition to project management, Maija actively contributed to operational work and fully utilized her expertise within the organization.
“A cohesive team was crucial to the success,” Maija emphasizes. The team felt that challenges were solved together, rather than each individual focusing solely on their own area of responsibility. The collaboration with NIS also worked very well according to the team.
A solid foundation for future development
The result of the project was not only a functioning solution for the service business, but also more efficient financial processes.
“We are very pleased that we found such a versatile competence in Maija. She took responsibility naturally and worked thoroughly. This collaboration was very successful,” says the company’s CFO Nina Norberg.
The project also provided valuable insights and a solid foundation for the continued development of the service business.
“I believe the client also gained new perspectives on project management that they can bring into future development projects,” Maija concludes.
