Entercard continuously works to develop its financial processes and ensure a robust internal control environment. As part of these efforts, with a focus on strengthening the internal control framework and creating clearer processes across the organization, Entercard found itself in need of additional resources within its Financial Controller team, a one in the group was to go on maternity leave.

NIS supported Entercard for more than a year through a consulting assignment within Financial Control. The engagement primarily focused on the development and documentation of internal controls within the ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) framework, with the objective of increasing transparency, harmonizing ways of working, and creating clearer process flows.

“We worked closely with the business to strengthen controls, document internal processes, clarify control activities, and establish a more structured foundation for the continued ICFR work. The assignment was not only about reviewing controls, but also about bringing an external perspective and helping establish a sustainable long-term way of working”, says Pontus Kaneberg from NIS.

A key part of the assignment involved developing and structuring control documentation related to financial reporting. The work included, among other things, mapping process activities, documenting key controls, as well as follow-up and quality assurance within the internal control framework. Through close collaboration across the organization, a clearer structure around responsibilities, process flows, and control activities was established.

Entercard has been particularly pleased with the support from NIS in strengthening the controller function during a period characterized by high demands for structure and continuity. The combination of hands-on support and a methodical improvement approach created strong conditions for efficient implementation.
